Four years ago, Founder and Creative Director Eitan Chitayat created an impassioned and purely heartfelt piece avowing his immeasurable and undying love for his culture and religion, underscoring the depth and breadth of Jewish people. It was titled “I’m That Jew.”
It quickly took on a life of its own, getting viewed and shared several million times.
He was recently asked to speak about it in Zurich at TEDx Züriberg
The message is simple and resonant. Each of us simply wants to exist, love and be loved, and be accepted wholly for who and what we are. There are no apologies and there is no shame. There is only dignity, honor, and pride. No matter how some may choose to define, slight, disparage, or compartmentalize us, we are complete, dimensional human beings who transcend race, color, religion, nationality, gender, sexual persuasion, political party, and countless other categories that others assign to us or by which we are measured. All of us. Every last one of us.
We are all infinitely capable despite – and often in spite of – the labels we’re given, persecution, prejudices, implicit biases, and the limitations placed on us by others.
We are all different. But the same.
