Times they are a changin’
Television networks are facing the challenge of the century: bringing TV to your computer and mobile screen. And as most are finding, this conversion isn’t so simple to do, and do well for that matter.
The fastest growing network in Israel, Reshet, knew that they needed to step up their game in this regard. At the start, Reshet’s web presence was cluttered and just plain unappealing. When it came to watching a video, the user ended up noticing everything but what they intended to watch. With the challenge of smaller screens and mobile functionality, user experience is critical to get right in this new viewing landscape.
Needless to say, with Reshet’s popularity and reputation, we were thrilled when they asked us to partner with them in the redesign of their website. With our Creative Director working side-by-side with their team, we fought against the clutter that existed throughout and helped deliver a beautiful new website fit for desktop and mobile.
Sometimes less is more. A lot more.
Much the opposite of their old site that was challenging to look at, let alone enjoy, their new site was created with a minimalistic design, using white space, and other subtle elements of detail that actually allow you to find and watch your favorite show without as much distraction.
We found opportunities throughout the site to bring a modern, elegant edge to the Reshet brand, from hover effects over the video thumbnails and navigation bar, to the clean and understated iconography. Overall, the site, to us, is a model of what networks should be doing in the realm of mobile TV.
