From the ground up

Working closely with their truly stellar team, we built a brand to match their ambition. Our work spanned brand strategy, story, logo, visual identity, copywriting, website design and photography. Down to helping bring the new brand into their investment decks.

Everythings needs a solid foundation

For a brand, that means the brand strategy. We interviewed key stakeholders, the team, partners in government, and one thing kept coming up: IIF funds projects through investors, and providing exceptional returns for them is the benchmark. Ultimately, that gave birth to "The Art of Appreciating Assets". Understanding the value of an asset, and knowing how to help that value grow.

Make a statement with understatement

We evolved their old logo making it more contemporary. Containing it in a circle made it stronger and provided a better lockup with their name. IIF is a humble company that prefers to let its assets speak for themselves, so we designed a visual identity that uses a lot of black and white to leverage them. Classic, modern typography and a restrained blue completed the identity.

A clear visual language

The same restraint carries through the smaller details. Simple line icons give the website another way to explain IIF’s investment approach. Together with the logo, typography and colour palette, they give the brand a consistent visual language, with room for the assets themselves to do the talking.

Structure is everything. For websites, too.

To create the optimal structure for IIF’s website, we concentrated on the UX and information architecture before turning our attention to design and copy. With a responsive design for mobile, the end result was a clean, easy-to-navigate site that puts the portfolio of incredible projects center stage.

The people behind the assets

We developed the brand’s voice, shot new team photography and a film for the website’s homepage. The aim was to bring the people and the portfolio into the same story. Smart. Serious. Modest. The communication needed to reflect the way the team worked.

Authenticity, honesty and professionalism. Something we can certainly relate to here at Natie.

Still appreciating

Since we worked together, IIF has continued to invest in the infrastructure people rely on. In September 2023, it joined Macquarie Capital and Tiger Infrastructure Partners in expanding UK broadband provider Voneus, backed by a funding package of up to £250 million from shareholders and lenders. In 2026, IIF’s fourth fund invested in Electra Afikim and Electra Motors, adding to its transportation portfolio.

As of October 2026, IIF reports 29 investments across four funds, with 22 realized and two taken public. It’s been a pleasure to watch their story continue, and to have helped shape the brand that tells it.
