Nicola was born in Italy, he lives in Italy and we envy him for being there. But though he was born in a small town near Naples in the south of the country, his spirit is quite worldly.
He’s studied classical literature in Latin, Italian and ancient Greek, but he always had a knack for design. In fact, he was a designer in the fashion trade, but after ten years of that, he began to study graphic and web design. He promptly fell in love with Massimo Vignelli’s work (thanks, Eitan!) and the modernist movement. This passion paved the way for him to earn a spot at one of Naple’s top ad agencies, where he worked on national campaigns, websites and countless brand identity projects.
Nicola is a typography freak and wrestles daily (and in his sleep) to find harmony between colored pixels and white space. He expresses creativity in any medium, is a published design veteran and has won a few international prizes along the way. A seasoned teacher of web and graphic design, he is an instructor at one of Italy’s most renowned communications institutes. And if you could draw DNA from one of his cells, ‘creativity’ would be written on them in Helvetica.
His dream is to build a better world where language, whether designed or written, is beautiful. He has adopted his mentor’s belief that “design is one, not many different ones.”
