It's been humanity’s long-held dream to make it rain
For decades, scientists have been trying to develop the technology to do so and prevent devastating floods and drought. Well, Weather Lab has done it. They’ve created a scientifically proven way to get the right amount of rainfall to wherever it’s needed most. All they needed was a way to show and tell their story…
We conducted a full brand strategy to get to Weather Lab’s heart and soul. We then crafted a narrative that captures how they need to articulate it and the impact they hope to have. We moved the conversation away from “weather control” by focusing on rain in the right place at the right time for the better. Because that’s their truth.
Yes, Weather Lab can form clouds and help create rain where it’s needed or disperse them when it’s not. So it was super-essential to tell their story while acknowledging the revolutionary nature of their claim and showing the huge positive impact they can bring to the world.
We created a tagline that plays off weather forecasting and conveys what Weather Lab will do for our future: The forecast is better. We also designed a logo in which orderly, predictable raindrops form a W, perfectly capturing the world-changing benefit of the company. Not to mention a visual identity applied to business cards, stationery, presentations, along with a sleek, modern website – but more on that down below.
Weather Lab’s variety of applications provide enormous economic and social benefits for a healthier and more sustainable global environment for all of us. We created simple, clear illustrations to show how their complex technology works, and married them to the appropriate imagery. We also helped produce a video that introduces their story and the overwhelmingly positive impact they’ll undoubtedly have. Check it out below.
Fully responsive and on WordPress, you’ll find clouds moving on their site we made for them from the get-go, which is the perfect first impression of what Weather Lab can do. Working hand-in-hand with Capri to deliver this brand and site, we focused on structure, powerful imagery and text, animations, and film – which altogether made the case that Weather Lab’s science is proven to work. Naturally.
That’s because we can now choose when to make them gray. Weather Lab is confident that some of the devastating effects of climate change can be reversed and that we can undo some of the extreme weather events caused by climate change. Their entire mission, purpose, website and communications advocate that from start to finish.
It’s not unusual for companies these days to say they want to change the world. But we can’t think of a single company that can more impactfully – and literally – make that claim than Weather Lab. They are working for the good of the planet to mitigate the impact of humankind on rainfall patterns. Which means a healthier and more sustainable global environment for us all.
