Hunter. BRAND STRATEGY, COPYWRITING, LOGO + VISUAL IDENTITY.
Searching for excellence
Hunter is an executive search company for people who search for the best. They pair top executives with exciting and challenging opportunities that let both individuals and companies succeed together. As the Israeli representatives of IRC, the world’s largest executive search company, they offer best-in-class practices and access to a global search network.
We’ve known Hunter and have been in touch for years, but recently, with ever-increasing competition in the recruitment field, they decided they needed a more distinctive brand story due to changes in the industry because of the COVID pandemic.
We rolled up our sleeves and started digging. We were searching for something ourselves: those telling nuggets that reveal the truth of a brand. Working closely with their managing partner and interviewing countless clients (both individuals and companies), we dug ever deeper to unearth what makes Hunter tick. What was the secret to their success? What do they do that other recruitment firms don’t – or can’t?
Time after time, we discovered that Hunter digs deep themselves. They don’t want to know merely what position a company is trying to fill; they want a deep understanding of the corporate culture to determine the kind of person that will thrive there. They don’t want to know only what a candidate has done in their career; they want to know the how and why, too. They want to know what drives and motivates them.
For Hunter, it’s never as simple as finding a match and getting a commission. It’s about finding the perfect fit to help the candidate and the company thrive together. It’s about bringing people and organizations together to accomplish more than they ever could apart.
From this powerful brand story, we developed a manifesto that culminated in a new tagline – We go beyond – and we delivered a completely new visual identity, from a new logo and corporate letterhead to marketing materials and presentation templates. We elevated their entire visual brand – Hunter came to us with a brand that was playful and colorful and left with a sophisticated, professional and exclusive look and feel that was perfect for their core audience.
While we didn’t create their site, we did execute a timely social media campaign and landing page for them to call attention to how the economy and the needs of businesses changed due to the pandemic, and how lots of amazing people were now looking for new opportunities that they could serve as the conduit.
We’ll leave you with something we learned in our initial exploratory phase: the hardest jobs for Hunter to fill are ones on their own staff because not everyone is so relentless in their drive to go beyond. That story about a search firm’s own search experiences is the Hunter brand in a nutshell.
